For Rudy Giuliani and Judith Giuliani, the third time is not the charm.
On April 4th, 2018, Judith Giuliani filed for divorce from Rudy Giuliani.
After being married for 15 years, the two appeared in court in New York City for the first time in the wake of their divorce filings.
In April, Rudy Giuliani joined President Trump’s legal team in an effort to quickly resolve the investigation into the Russian election interference.
Since filing for divorce, Rudy Giuliani has claimed his income had diminished because he is working pro bono for Trump, giving up a significant salary from his previous law firm. One may argue he is claiming his income has diminished to avoid a steep divorce settlement, despite the fact that he made $9.5 million dollars last year.
However, court papers claim Rudy Giuliani spent almost $900,000 since April. This includes close to $300,000 towards his alleged mistress, almost $450,000 “for his own enjoyment” and almost $175,000 for travel expenses.
Judith Giulani’s attorney also claimed Rudy Giuliani spent approximately $12,000 on cigars and over $7,000 on pens since April.
Judith is seeking spousal support among other support from the former mayor.
The judge in the matter said“ It would seem to me that a tremendous amount could be saved in legal fees by not going down this route and would treat their relationship, their marriage, with more respect than throwing all their dirty laundry out for public consumption,”
