Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines’ husband is seeking over $60,000 in monthly combined support (child and spousal).
Pasdar, Maines’ husband is asking for $16,427 in child support and $44,076 in spousal support per month, according to PEOPLE magazine. The pair has two sons together – Jackson, 17, and Beckett, 14.
Pasdar is also requesting $350,000 to pay for attorney’s fees.
Pasdar claims that Maines has a net worth of $50 million, and makes $2 million a year. He also claims that since she is going on tour in 2019, she will likely “net millions of dollars in income for that endeavor”.
Pasdar also claims that he makes an average of $150,000 per year, and that he’s accumulated over $200,000 in debt after their split in 2017 to support himself and their children. Pasdar also claims that he had to give up “countless employment opportunities” so he could stay with his wife and parent the children while Maines worked as a musician.
While the couple was together, Pasdar claims Maines paid the mortgage and most other family expenses, include the kids’ school tuition.
The pair did sign a prenuptial agreement before their marriage in 2000, but Pasdar is questioning whether the prenuptial agreement is still valid.
According to Court documents, Pasdar “does not recall the events related to the drafting and negotiation of the prenuptial agreement in 2000”. The prenuptial agreement calls for neither side to receive spousal support.
The Judge has yet to rule.
